Quick API Test is a developer tool that lets you create and send HTTP requests and inspect responses directly in your browser. We built it to be lightweight and privacy-friendly.

Data Collection
We do not collect personal data.
- We do not collect, store, sell, or share personally identifiable information.
- We do not use analytics trackers or advertising services.
- We do not record your browsing history or monitor your activity across websites.
“Not collect” means the extension does not send your data to our servers or any third-party service for storage or analysis.
How Your Data Is Used When You Test an API
When you enter request details (such as URL, method, headers, body, or tokens) and click “Send”:
- The extension uses your input only to perform the request you explicitly initiated.
- The request is sent to the API endpoint you specified (the destination host).
- The response is shown to you locally in the extension UI.
Note: The API endpoint you contact may receive information such as your IP address and the request content, as is normal for any network request. This is controlled by the API provider you choose to contact.
Local Storage
The extension may store some settings locally on your device to improve usability (for example, UI preferences or previously entered request templates), depending on the features you enable.
- Local storage stays on your device/browser profile.
- We do not sync this data to our servers.
If you want to remove locally stored data, you can clear the extension’s site data / extension storage or remove the extension.
Permissions We Request (and Why)
Quick API Test may request the following permissions to deliver its core functionality:

tabs– Used only to open, focus, or reuse tabs that belong to the extension itself (e.g., openingquick-api-test.htmlwhen you click the extension icon, or showing a one-time welcome page on install). We do not read or monitor the content of your web pages. -
host_permissions– Required so the extension can send HTTP requests to the API hosts you explicitly specify. The extension does not scrape or modify website content. -
clipboardWrite– Used only when you click a “Copy” action (e.g., copy JSON, headers, or curl command). The extension does not read clipboard contents.
Remote Code
Quick API Test does not execute remote code. All executable JavaScript and logic are packaged within the extension. Network access is used only for the user-initiated API requests to the endpoints you specify (and for opening informational pages).
Children’s Privacy
Quick API Test is not designed for children and does not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to This Policy
If the extension’s behavior changes in a way that affects privacy, we will update this policy and adjust our Chrome Web Store disclosures accordingly.
